Christmas at the Lake

We had a Merry Christmas at the lake last weekend! Grammy made things very special. The kids enjoyed lighting the advent and hearing what each candle means...
...I just can't resist this little cutie pie...
...The anticipation of opening goodies was great this year...
Nicolas, Ava, Isabella, and Jane
...the girls...
We read the Nativity story and the girls held up a quilt for each part of the story...I love these quilts made by Grammy...such a special tradition.

Gingerbread Houses

The big girls had a ball decorating their gingerbread houses...each piece went on oh so carefully!
....lots of thought, precison, and help from Grammy....
...and then Jane joined in and put her personal "touch" on the masterpiece....
...sampling the goods here and there...
...still working...
....a quick picture with Pappy...
Ta-Da! So proud of their work...as they should be!

The girls and I decided to make cookies today...They were big helpers and managed to keep most of the ingredients IN the bowl. Ava cracked her first egg and did super!
....mixing away...
....not sure what is happening here...but cute none the less...
YUM! Purple M&M cowboy cookies!

Little Bruiser

Our little Janie gave us a scary scare earlier this week! She tripped and hit her forehead into the doorway of our bedroom. It scared me enough to take her to the ER....she didn't need stitches so they then directed me to our family doctor to take a look. Once the swelling settled down...it didn't look quite so bad (but still bad). The doctor seemed to think it would heal just fine...with the help of Mederma. It made for a crazy day...but all is well! We are so thankful she is okay!
...happily showing off her boo boo...

Grandma Great

Our sweet Grandma Great went to be with Jesus on November 20th. She lived 89 wonderful years to the fullest! She was a precious lady who took great-grandparenting very seriously. She was always first in line to hold my girls and never missed one of their Birthday parties. We will miss her greatly...but rest assured that she is in a better place!

Thanksgiving Feasts

Ava kicked off TG with a Pre-School feast....All of the mini pilgrims and indians were very sweet as they feasted on their food. I love how her school celebrates!
Ellen & Ava
We headed to the lake for a few nights to celebrate TG with the family. The cousins got to sleepover for 2 nights which was especially fun for the big girls! We had to leave early to celebrate Grandma Great...but our short weekend at the lake was super fun!
